Ardglass 1-13 v St Michael’s 1-4
The Seniors picked up another 2 points on Friday night following a comprehensive win against St Michael’s in Ardtole.
Davy Armstrong was the first to open the score with a fine point in the opening minutes and then again converting a free. The first half seen a further 6 points added to the scoreboard from Jamie McDarby, James Crangle, Shea Dorrian and Michael Magee. Michael also hitting the onion bag to leave it 1-8 to 0 at the break.
Michael was first to open the score for us in the second half adding another 2 after to bring his personal total to 1-6 throughout the game. Shea added another along with a fine Daniel Smyth point to finish the game, 1-13 to 1-4.
There were strong performances throughout the game from Stephen Rooney, Liam Kearney, Shane Teggart and Michael Magee.
The Seniors next game is away to St John’s, Bosco on Friday night.
ACRFL Div 3
Ardglass 1-7 St Paul’s 3-7
The reserves are still seeking their first win after falling to a six point loss at home on Sunday, the damage was done with the concession of 3 first half goals otherwise it was an even affair, Gavin O’Shea moved to full back at the break and helped steady the ship as Conor Kearney moved to midfield, Anton O’Shea, Dara O’Shea and Patrick Shearer tried to take the fight to St Paul’s although possession couldn’t be converted to scores as the home side relied on Daniel Smyth frees to close the Gap, St Paul’s tagged on afew scores in the final ten minutes to ensure the 2 points returned to Holywood, Shea Dorrian. Conor Feenan and David Armstrong were best for Ardglass over the hour.
The Reserves next game is away to Newry Shamrocks on Sunday at 2pm.
U12s Section E
The u12 girls hosted Carryduff on Wednesday night in Ardtole. Despite losing the game, the girls put in a terrific effort throughout the 50 minutes, scoring 2-8. There were fantastic performances from Brooke in goals, Charlotte in the full back line and Katie, Naomi and Jessie in the forward line.
The girls are away to Teconnaught this Wednesday at 7pm.
East Down U11.5s Section 3
After an opening day loss to RGU the U11.5s returned to form with two exceptional performances this week, first up was the visit of Carryduff on Wednesday, the home side dominated throughout with strong defending from Harry Walsh and Finley McEvoy, Midfielders Nathan McCann and Zach Addis enjoyed a fine game, up front the flourishing partnership of Harry McManus, Sam Smyth and Finn Carling paid great dividends on the scoreboard.
On Sunday the lads travelled to Teconnaught and enjoyed another fine win built on strong goalkeeping from Christopher Rogan & resolute defending from Ethan McLaughlin and Ethan Hamill, the front three again caused trouble for the Rann Rd lads. Rowan Johnston and Madden McEvoy stepped up from the U9. 5 squad this week to make their debuts at this grade. Training every Tuesday 6pm.
The boys play Castlewellan at home on Sunday at 11am.

On Saturday morning, over 40 of us set off from the Clubrooms at 4.15am and headed out to Sheepland, round by Chapeltown and back in to Ardtole as the was rising up over the Irish Sea. It was a beautiful morning of reflection and hope as we remembered all those affected by suicide and showed solidarity to those currently experiencing poor mental well-being.
We were delighted to be joined by supporters, players, coaches, committee and neighbouring clubs; raising a fantastic £500 for TAMHI. TAMHI has been our mental health partner for many years now and supports Clubs across the 6 counties to develop mental health games as well as providing vital mental health coach education programmes.
A big thank you to all that attended and supported the event.
